Final post

These are the last 3 concentrations and I don't see much of a difference because I took tons of pictures and just kinda chose from those but, I love how I've used different colors and angles throughout the process of this.

I am so proud of myself because this has caused me to really think and push myself to not be so lazy when it comes to my works now. I really enjoyed this class and the skills it has offered me. It's such an awesome feeling knowing that I have improved with my skills just over this year. I can't believe the year is almost over. I've met some amazing people and amazing artists. It was a good time this year and I'll continue to take pictures and learn throughout college and however long I continue to take pictures. This class has also pushed me to try new things besides just taking pictures. It has made me a little bit more creative in my opinion. I really had a great time and I'm thankful for all of the memories, art works, and stories shared and made throughout my senior year of high school.

Question 2

How does your work demonstrate exploration of your idea?

I feel my work demonstrates it very well, and how it is demonstrated is quite simple. I gave a summary of what it was and why I'm doing this and with the photos I have captured it shows the people worshiping and the music part of it too. So, I think that I have captured this and demonstrated it very well.

The order is wrong

Okay, so the order is all weird of my concentrations. I'm not sure which one's are which at this point so I just numbered them any way. I'll figure it out when I finish up for the board. It was just really confusing, but I guess it doesn't really matter on here.

UPDATEEEEE

What is the central idea of your concentration?

*Well, basically I am taking pictures of the emotional, physical, and technical side of worship. And portraying the beauty of worshiping in a photo. You can capture it, but you'll never really understand how beautiful it truly is until you experience it. It's a very awesome thing to watch, it's also something that not everyone can say they feel. Which is another reason why I wanted to do this. It's a beautiful thing and even if you can't experience it, you can still witness it.

This is an update, I'm doing good with concentrations. I think I have about 10 so far, but I'm not 100% sure if I want to use all of them. I'm going to continue to take more pictures and then just go from there. So, hopefully I can continue from there.

New Works I've composed. Okay, so a little bit about these photos...They were taken at The Underground with a Cannon, my goal was to capture the musical side of worship but also gain that little ounce of emotion and compassion, which I feel I accomplished. I feel like some of these pictures looked better with black and white, and others looked better with sepia and color. So, here they are I'm really excited to continue to shoot some amazing people worshiping. This is only the beginning...

True Christians

This is a little update of where I'm at when it comes to this project, I just finished editing some pictures. I'm at a crossroads, I've decided to not do all kinds of worship but take pictures of worship that I know and love and do it from both the emotional aspect and musical aspect so these pictures will vary from seeing people in worship, and seeing people playing/leading people in worship. My recent pictures are a little bit aimed more toward the musical aspect of worship. I think it's awesome that you can view worship from many different angles, but you never really hear people talking about the way I see worship at my church, and other churches like mine. So, I decided to end the cycle and focus on this one religion. It's not because I don't want to share the other religions, it's because I realize that you don't see "true christians" you just see the ones on TV or in movies who are portrayed differently than what I see in real life so here's a look into what I witness.

Tiana Key, Courtney Stehm, Dustin Smith, & Ryan Thomas (from left to right)

Dustin Smith

Dustin Smith & Fernando Conception
These are some pictures I captured for my first 3 concentrations, I really really like them actually. It's kind of like what I wanted it to look like. It captured the emotional, passionate, and happy side of worshiping. These were taken at The Vineyard Student Union, (my church) The people in the pictures are Dustin Smith (the worship leader) Courtney Sthem, Tiana Key, Ryan Thomas, and Fernando Conception. The main focus was to get the raw essence of worship by either catching an occasional smile, or just a few hands in the air. I really like the first picture because the 2 girls are in focus and you can see their happy leading all of the kids in worship and everything else is there but it's blurred which is how it should be during worship, HE is the main focus and the rest of the world is blurred, with the second picture I really like this one, like a lot. The hands are perfect it was like a right in the moment this was what I was feeling so I threw my hands up to worship. Dustin's hands are screaming I'm here I love you, I want to worship you. And, with the last picture, it's perfect. PERFECT. It shows him in the pure reflection of Christ, he is singing and throwing his hand up to share the gift God has given him with the youth ministry, leading by example. I feel like I captured more than pictures, I captured moments. I edited them with iPhoto and took them using a Nikon. Our God's NOT dead he's surely alive and he's living on the inside roaring like a lion :)

Me Worshiping

Worship is a beautiful thing.

CHANGE HAS OCCURRED...

Okay, so it's official. I have changed my idea already and we're only on the second concentration. I wasn't really feeling the whole loneliness idea I previously had, I ran out of ideas of what I could do. So, as of right now I think I'm going to do worship as in church worship. I will ask to borrow a camera and I will go and take pictures of my church service as they all worship. In my opinion it will be cool, and it can give you a feel for worship and why I admire it so much. I can only see this as not only easier for me but more connection toward the actual project. I'm better at taking pictures than "drawing" or "painting" so you'll be able to tell by my photography what my reasoning behind changing this was.
